Parent Help
An important aspect of the learning and teaching programs at St Aloysius is the role of parents who are invited to assist in the educational programs of the College. We value and appreciate the skills, talents, special interests and time that parents can share with the children in our classrooms. This assistance may include helping in classroom learning activities, and assisting on excursions and camps. To ensure a rewarding involvement for children, parents and teachers, in the classroom please remember:
- Inform the teachers what specific days and times that you are available and special skills, talents and expertise you have to share.
- Give the teacher adequate notice of your non-availability to enable a relief helper to be organised to assist with the planned learning program.
- Support and follow the teacher’s directions regarding the activity, equipment usage and pack-up and clean-up procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality, respecting the importance and dignity of each child.
- Refer parents’ questions of their children’s progress or behaviour to the class teacher.
Together we can ensure the children with whom we work will reap the benefits of your presence in the classroom. If you are interested in participating in parent help rosters, please register your interest with the class teacher/s.
