Secondary English & Humanities Teachers

(Years 7-12)

Ongoing and Limited Tenure: Leave Replacement positions available

1.0FTE (reduced FTE may be negotiated)

Position commences: Term 2 2025 – (date to be negotiated with successful candidate)
Limited Tenure position concludes: Term 4 2025 - Thursday, 18th December 2025

  • Be able to articulate a general commitment to Catholic Education
  • Have appropriate qualifications for the position
  • Hold current WWVP employment registration
  • Hold current registration to teach in Tasmania

Utility Officer

Part time – Ongoing
0.6FTE

Position commences: June 2025 – (negotiable with successful candidate)

About the Role
The Utility Officer is responsible for coordinating and performing general maintenance, groundskeeping, and occasional construction and cleaning tasks to maintain the school’s facilities. The role also involves occasional bus driving and vehicle care. You will work collaboratively with the Facilities and Compliance
Coordinator and report to the Business Manager, contributing to a school culture grounded in Catholic values and the mission of Catholic Education Tasmania.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, skilled individual who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a supportive, community-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform general building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance
  • Allocate tasks to utility staff, contractors, and volunteers, and supervise work performed
  • Maintain and care for school vehicles, including cleaning and minor servicing
  • Support safety practices, including WHS compliance, risk assessments, and contractor inductions
  • Set up for events and support emergency drills such as lockdowns and evacuations
  • Maintain hand tools, power tools, and manage chemical usage safely
  • Ensure grounds and facilities are clean, orderly, and safe
  • Contribute to the school’s maintenance and safety planning and documentation
  • Actively participate in team collaboration and professional development


About You
You are a reliable and self-motivated professional with the ability to work both independently and as part
of a team. You demonstrate integrity, initiative, and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and
welcoming school environment. You also bring excellent communication skills and a willingness to support
the Catholic ethos of the school.


Essential Requirements

  • Relevant trade or technical qualifications (e.g. Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration
  • Current and satisfactory National Police Check
  • Tasmanian driver’s licence (light, medium or heavy rigid), or willingness to obtain
  • Accreditation A, or willingness to work towards this

Desirable

  • Manual handling certificate
  • Experience supervising others
  • Familiarity with school environments or similar settings

Please note: The successful applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment Work Health Assessment.
